I noticed an artsy type guy on the dating site and sent him a message saying, hey I'm involved in the arts, too! As an example, I gave the following:
My latest endeavour is performing in a
burlesque show as a douchy guy with a mullet, who wears a shirt
professing a love of bacon and likes to grab himself and thrust a lot. I
may even find some fake blacked-out teeth to perfect the ensemble. It
will be a lot of fun. Nothing like subverting a genre that originally
started out as a subversion, don't you think?
No response.
Come on, if dancing in drag as a douche who enjoys groping his manhood isn't a turn on, what is?
Maybe he's worried my bulge is bigger than his?

Love the series!
Wow. That is such an awesome message to send to someone.
Glad people are still reading my posts, and I haven't scared all of my readers off along with all the men!
(Edit)
You haven't scared me off, either! In fact, your writing somehow reminded me of a classic:
'Thirtyish academic man wishes to meet woman who's interested in Mozart, James Joyce and sodomy.'
I'm off to watch the rest of the best of Annie Hall :-)
Now, this is an interesting post. I want to laugh but it made me a little curious about the reason behind why the guy did not reply. These online sites like Plentyoffish.com truly delivers a variety of men and women.
Either he was turned off because he was looking for somebody more prim and proper or he was so turned on he thought you were being too good to be true. bbpeoplemeet
